NPD Group - Image 1The NPD group, known for its North American video game industry software and hardware sales reports, has announced that it will be compiling reports on online game subscriptions for paying customers of the service.

According to the company, these quarterly reports will help business owners and investors "address the competitive and growing market for online subscription-based products in the PC Software, PC Games and Video Games industries."

The company will be providing data on the size of the online subscriptions market in different categories as well as evaluate and size opportunities for competing pricing models and benchmark competition. The NPD Group's vice president Martin Zagorsek spoke about this new addition to their line-up of services:

These new additions to NPDÂ’s portfolio of products provide manufacturers, retailers, licensors, publishers, developers, and financial services companies with the ability to track the size, growth and demographics of the U.S. market for subscription-based games and software.
