Having come a long way from blocks and spheres gathering cabbages, Jagex has just given out the word that they currently have several things that they are currently working on that citizens of the MMORPG Runescape can look forward to.First off, a new chapter of the Morytania storyline will begin and the Lumbridge Guides will also be introduced. These guides are collections of skills in the world of Runescape, which experts have compiled. These are expected to immensely help players who are starting out or when their low-level equipment have been lost and needs to be replaced.
There will also be an update on how signposts work, and free members will now enjoy the inclusion of area sounds. Fritz the Entrana glassblower, who teach glassblowing skills and who can buy the molten glass that you collect, among others, will also be added .
Runescape is an MMORPG which began in 1998 and has been programmed with Java. Because of its low system requirements and almost non-existent lag, more than 800,000 players have been playing this game.

Game sucks. Don't waste your time playing it. Due to it's easy access and low system requirements, even 6 year olds play this game. The community is horrible, and everybody is so hungry for gold it's ridiculas. Besides, if you play the game your going to want to play as a member. Which is fine, the game is huge and well worth 5$ a month, and with updates every week it's nice. However, the community is just horrid. Don't waste your time.
If you tried members before you'd find that almost everyone is alright. There is still the gold obsession, but that's in every MMO. Long as your not one of these who thinks games are rubbish if they don't have perfect graphics, it's a good game. (Bar the free community, though even a good number of them are alright.)
I've been playing RS for about a year (mostly as a member). I love it. It's a blast. It's free to try, so GO FOR IT!
I have played this game for 2 years and I'm an adult. It's a great stress reliever. I am a member and currently am combat 118, only 8 more levels til I max out. Will I still play? Yes. They are always coming out with new quests and new skills. The storylines are entertaining and the new age restriction means that under age 13 can only play with parental permission.

i started playing runescape 6 mouths ago and my combat level is 41 and i am a non-member and i am not happy because some one hack in to my account and now i have nothing.

people who normally talk trash about the community are on f2p where, yes, scammers a plenty along with your hords of noobz the game is great for dial up i play it, much simpler than other games but sometimes simple is better
Runescape is stupid. Anyone who plays it is either a retarded little 10 year old or a loser 40 year old who lives with their parents. It's full of retards who are unable of forming coherent sentences. Nevertheless, it has about 100,000 subscribers. I don't know why these idiots subscribe, with the dearth of quality updates and in contrast, the plethora of unintelligent fools who think typos are cool. There ARE friendly/good people in game Aside from the beggars, whiners, and scammers on FREE and MEMBERS.....Runescape is basically the Poor mans World of Warcraft...The graphics are not that great but what do you expect on a java based platform for $5 a month.... Aside from MY above comments...Runescape is a fun and addictive game, Ive been playing since the Runescape Classic days.. Just READ THE KNOWLEDGE BASE, so you can keep your account safe, and how NOT to fall for scams like armor trimming..... Ignore the morons in game and Your Runescape experience will be a good one.... Idiots who cannot keep their password safe, or get keylogged claim to be "hacked" (majorly WRONGLY over used word).... Well Runescape is one of those games that is ether you like it or you don't. I like runescape as it is fairly unique and if you go on members there is something for everyone....what i like is the humour that is in the game
runescape is alsome but me as lvl 96 combat a member i got scamed 4m and that sucks u can become a member for only 5$ a month or send a pay by cash realy cheap soo the game is arigth just wach out for scamers lol my real name is.......udont need to know cause then ull add me and beg for cash ....:P soo just stay beutiful......... u beter like what i wrote if u dont ill be pist :P.........soooooo ....thats my tip for the game ..danm im beatiful dont hate plz its not my fuault
As a kid i always dreamed of playing a game like runescape: collecting items, working on skills, standing around talking...or merchanting, going on quests, teaming up on monsters, killing other players. Now I am an adult and I will never stop playing this game and even if I let my membership run out I can still play. It rarely lags on my horrible dialup connection. It has pretty good (recently updated) graphics, considering i don't have to buy any software or downlaod anything but a java applet. It is well moderated on both forums and through in game reports and has an excellent (recently updated) chat censor, so it's pretty kid safe. It is constantly being updated every week, the owners are making millions off the advertising and subscriptions so IT IS HARD TO GET YOUR VOICE HEARD IN THE SEA OF WHINNERS. But since a thousand people whine about every glitch as soon as it gets noticed, glitches are fixed quickly (and abuses have been punished with perminent bans) Community, well just like real life, don't trust them if you don't know where they live. There are ingame markets and forums (the forums rock btw) full of thousands of people, 24 hours a day waiting to rip you off. There is also a great group, called aesop, for adults to meet and there are 100s of pking groups (called "clans") that anyone can join. I expect that in a couple of years rs3 will come out and the difference will hopfully be as great of a leap in graphics as rs2 was over rsc in 2003. Other than the graphics this game has it all.
