Muslim group CAIR tells WalMart to take down Left Behind

Left BehindFor a game, Left Behind: Eternal Forces is creating an unusual amount of ruckus across the gaming industry. But when you really think about, this is actually somewhat expected because it was based from the >heavily criticized book series Left Behind. The first to react was The Christian Alliance for Progress then it was followed by Campaign to Defend the Constitution. This time, it's the Muslims turn.

Accordingly, The Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR has been receiving complaints from its constituents regarding the game's violent tendencies. Left Behind, in case you aren't aware, rewards players for either converting or killing people of other faiths. While the game was developed by Left Behind Games Inc., the weird thing here is that Wal-Mart has been caught in between.

Furthermore, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad deemed it necessary to write a formal letter to H. Lee Scott Jr., chief executive officer of the said retail store. Part of the letter reads:

We also believe that as a company that prides itself in hiring and offering services to a diverse group of people, it is Wal-Mart's corporate social responsibility to take into account the potential social impact of its decision to sell this harmful game. We, therefore, respectfully request the removal of the video game 'Left Behind: Eternal Forces' from your shelves.

In the same letter, Awad also mentioned that they have spoken with the president of Left Behind Games, Jeffrey Grichner, regarding the game's Muslim-sounding enemy names. As if the question uttered is the weirdest in the world, Grichner responded that "Muslims are not believers in Jesus Christ and therefore cannot be on the side of Jesus in the game."

Personally, we're reporting this to you because we want you guys to remain informed. Just for the record, we believe that Jesus Christ owns a special place in Islam. Muslims, as you might know, have always regarded Christ as one of God's prophets. Please, let us not make this into a religious war. The answer to this problem, my friends, are respect and tolerance.

Ok...

Wow... I didn't know such a games even existed but what's the purpose of the game anyway I mean WTH? A game that promote racism but the concept is interesting (No offence to people of other religions though) and I think using religions that way is the worse thing you can do or maybe not but WTH?! Oh well... as Ryan A. Said just respect and tolerate this stuff for now...

Touchy subject...

It's really hard to say much anymore, and that goes for more than just religion. BUT, Muslim names as enemies is PROBABLY something that should have been an obvious no-no for a true christian ....especially with all the tension in the world. However , I think the Muslims ARE going a little bit overboard in asking Wal-Mart to take down the game off their shelves. If everybody had a gripe about some particular item for sale in Wal-Mart, then what really would be left to sell :P ? If we use pigs to test lipstick on, should we take that off the shelves? Imagine, then, how many letters they would get from angry people requesting them to put the lipstick BACK on the shelves :P I mean I'd really like it if my child could say God in school, think it would help if I sent a letter asking politely to allow my child to say God in school....nope. So, basically, both sides won't give or even compromise, and Wal-Mart (in their attempt to serve the public) gets caught in the middle of it all. If I felt sorry for anybody it would be Wal-Mart . You wouldn't BELIEVE how much I had to go back and re-edit this comment to leave out any and all comments that might have seemed the least bit offensive to ANYBODY who read it :P All freedom of speech suppressed, that should make a few people happy :P

Complainers

This is America. Wal-Mart, or any store for that matter, should be able to sell any product they want regardless if it offends anyone or not. If you're offended don't buy it. This country is going to hell, and it's because of all these people that think the world is to cater to them. These people think that are special and think that they deserve special treatment. FTW!

CAIR needs to be Torn Asunder

CAIR has been deemed to have ties to terrorism per Senators Schumer, Kyl and Durbin via a Symposium studying 9/11. Daniel Pipes, an expert on Islam working with this administration, Congressman King and Robert Spencer, terrorist expert all agree along with many others that CAIR is indeed a terrorist supporting organization. They were banned from the White House a couple of years after 9/11 due to the revelations about their organization. They have had many of their leaders jailed or deported for ties to terrorism as recently as a few months back in Dallas, Texas. They have been named as defendants in the 9/11 Class Action Suit and they lost a case against one Andrew Whitehead. Mr. Whitehead runs a website called Anti-CAIR and it behooves all of you to look at it. He has posted on this site what his lawyers found out about CAIR and one can see why they backed down quickly. They did not want a trial. CAIR's members are envolved in getting the Qur'an on the top shelves of our schools and libraries. They have a website with a list of things for Muslims to do to scream discrimination and numbers to call. It is called their survival kit. CAIR is responsible for bringing Islam into schools throughout this country in order to pull the new generation into Islam. We can not speak of the Bible but many schools have programs under the guise of education that has your children reciting from the Qur'an and praising Allah. CAIR is behind getting prayer rooms into our factories and work places, they are behind attempts to stop any and all discussions on the Qur'an and Muhammad on radio, TV or any place. They have sued preachers, radio hosts, attempted to ruin the career of an Army Officer and many others. They are to be watched carefully and everyone needs to keep a keen eye out for these rats. Their top leader has said openly that Islam is not in this country to be equel to any religion but to be the only religion. They have openly admitted they want America to become Islamic and the Qur'an to be the ruling book. They said they will use our very laws to achieve their goals and quit frankly folks they are making headway. Ignorance is not bliss and as Americans you need to wake-up and smell the coffee. Stand up for our way of life, our traditions and fight this "Enemy Within our Midst." They are backed by Saudi money and while we are at it let me inform you of someone else. Prince Alaweed owns billions in American Corporations. He has millions in CNN and her sister company Time Warner. He has recently bought out a good portion of FOX and bragged about how he told them not to use the term Islamic Terrorists. Well can someone out there please tell me who is warring in 14 countries throughout the world at this time. Is it Jews and Christians in Africa, Russia, Phillipines, Indonesia etc. Who burned 6000 cars in France last year? Who went berserk in Australia last December after 5000 Aussies stood together to get their beaches back? Who has injured 2500 French Policemen? How many Muslims does it take to blow-up 2 major buildings in America killing thousands? Why do we spend billions on Homeland Security? Is it to protect us from Hindus, Buddhists? Who is burning churches and destroying religous Icons all over the world? Who blew-up the famous Buddhas in the Mt side? Who rampaged through the streets over cartoons? Who is it who celebrated in the streets of our country and throughout the world after 3000+ Americans were burned to death or jumped to their deaths from the Towers? Is Iran our friend? The list is endless and the answer to all of the above is "MUSLIMS." When are we as a people going to put a stop to this? What will it take before we say enough? When will we insist that Muslims here illegally be deported? When will we insist no more Muslims to immigrate to America? When will we stop the mosque building, funded by Saudi dollars, filled with Saudi hate literature, as proven by a recent commission on this subject, who insisted there be a Senate Investigati

More delusions.

Really! Religious groups should leave us gamers alone. Christians believing a carpenter was Gods son!! Ho ho..... The SON OF GOD!! Like if you were Omnipotent you would come to Jerusalem for a holiday! - what an uneducated delusion. Thinking this guy was actually from like outer space - heaven or other madness. These people should be LOCKED UP. And as for the Muslims, hey Muhammed was a GOAT HERDER who turned into a damn good warlord - he seriously kicked some arse - but he was MAD in the head! He thought god talked to him! To him and no one else! He was obsessed with free wine and virgins. Like that is prophecy - all men want free wine and virgins. So Christians are - dumb self obsessed madmen Muslims are - dumb self obsessed madmen The rest of us self respecting gamers just have to learn to deal with it. Lets face it if you are dumb enough to believe in a goat herder or a carpenter you have a few screws loose and you SHOULD NOT be playing games - especially not oblivion/Morrowind etc - who knows what sick delusions they might be incited to adopt.
