LotRO Beta players talk about the Burglar Class |
Ó
Well, it's time to check back in on the beta players for Turbine Inc.'s Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. In today's Beta Journal, the Beta Program participants were asked to talk about their experiences in the venerable art of theft. Yep, we're talking Burglar class.Personally, Rogue-type classes have always been my favorite. They may not be the hardiest of fighters, but they're definitely some of the deadliest. Whether it be sneaking around, pilfering items, dodging blows aplenty, or rolling the magic 20 on a backstab attempt, Burglars and other Rogue-type classes have really got it going on.
In LotRO, one of the main advantages of the Burglar class is the ability to start conjunctions at will. These conjunctions have effects that range from saving lives and restoring power to dealing deadly blows and doing damage over time. According to one Beta player, "even though the burglar does not do great damage normally, being able to start conjunctions at will makes the burglar very useful in combat."
Another great Burglar skill is the ability to sneak around. This is great for those times when you just want to have a nice quiet walk and not have to stain your hands red all the time. It's also very useful for when you and your party want to dispatch a boss the quickest way possible.
When sneaking fails, the burglar can always resort to his bag of tricks: he can throw dust in their eyes to reduce their hit rate; he can make them fail to evade, block, or parry. Heck, the burglar can even "pose a riddle that's ever so confusing to stun them while they try to figure out the answer!" Now that is one hell of a way to get the upper hand in a fight.
