Jumpgate Evolution hits Codemasters Online Beta Campaign record with 250,000 sign ups |
Ó
Could the wait be almost over for Codemasters and NetDevil's much-awaited new space combat MMO, Jumpgate Evolution? Almost, but not quite, probably, but the two companies have released a press wire announcing astounding news. The Beta sign-ups for the game in North America and Europe has hit a landmark score of 250,000, making it Codemasters Online's biggest Beta Campaign. Ever.
Said VP for Codemasters Online, David Solari,
This is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved with Jumpgate Evolution. We have received overwhelming support for the game since the commencement of its Beta sign up last year and our fans have been clamoring for the Beta. We expect our fans to agree that it was well worth the wait.
Jumpgate Evolution currently is in the Friends & Family testing phase, with Netdevil aiming to provide the community with the opportunity to have their say on the game, to change what needs changing, all for the betterment of the game.
Scot Brown, NetDevil President, said,
Our players' enthusiasm continues to exceed our expectations at every milestone and we are extremely excited to achieve such fantastic support. We have thoroughly enjoyed obtaining some valuable feedback from the people in our Friends & Family test, helping us to take the next major step towards launch.
Still no word on when that release will happen, but nonetheless it is reassuring to learn that development is going along its merry way.

The sign ups came out to such an even number. That's far out man.
I'm imagining a game combining Eve online with Freelancer.
In fact, just an MMO Freelancer would pretty much tickle me to death.
