Horizons clients vulnerable to intruders

HorizonsTrouble is brewing over at EI Interactive's camp. The developers of the MMORPG, Horizons: Empire of Istaria, apparently received a report filed a few months back about how their clients are vulnerable to outside intruders. This juicy bit of info was allegedly confirmed by a source within the original development team.

60 days has passed and no action was done, hence the release of the report today. Dazed and confused, EI Interactive recently took their game servers offline and even replaced the login screen. Due to this, servers have been up now, down the next minute, and up again. Whether EI Interactive's action fixed the problem is still a mystery to most people.

Just what "vulnerabilities" are we talking about? Basically, an attacker could modify important account and character info such as change payment and subscription info, create unverified billings, rename characters, activate or ban an account, and retrieve sensitive/shard info among many others. We could only hope that EI Interactive could shed light on this issue in the coming days. If you want to check out that report, click on the 'Read' link.
