World of Warcraft was once the greatest thing that ever happened to MMOs. It showed the world that the MMO market was more than a niche, and that players would show up in droves to grind and quest their way through a fantasy world, as long as that world was relatively user-friendly. Since WoW’s launch in 2004, Blizzard has worked to keep the game updated and interesting with massive content patches and three major expansions.

But something seems to have gone wrong. The next big expansion, Mists of Pandaria, revolves around mystical pandas and their secret island. The whole thing stinks of retcon. Many gamers (and WoW fans) are sounding death bells for WoW based on what they’ve seen and heard about MoP.
