Guild Wars 2 is looking for gamers to get into the Halloween spirit with its first major content release update. Beginning today and running through Halloween users will be able to take part in a four chapter event that revolves around a seriously scary plot. On top of that however, you can expect new activities, content, and tons of cool decorations around some of the world's key areas. Are you in for a little fright in the Guild Wars universe? You might be convinced when you hear about all of these features.

Starting as we speak, all of you Guild Wars fans will be able to get going on ArenaNet's first major update to their one-time fee MMORPG. Certainly as is with these kinds of games we only have a vague notion of what the plot will revolve around, but what I can say is that at the very least it does sound darn interesting. Characters will be charged with the responsibility of exploring the "strange energies rising under the autumn moon" while uncovering a supposedly spooky secret about their location. Chapter one of course begins today, with Chapter 2 starting on October 23rd, Chapter 3 on October 28th, and finally Chapter 4 will conclude the series on October 31st.

However, there is a lot more to this update than a new act to follow. There are also some new activities to speak of as well including the ability to trick or treat on top of being able to concoct some new crafting recipes. Tyria will also be given a makeover to mark the special occasion as well. Lastly, a few new items will be made available at the Black Lion Trading Company that will allow users to cast spooky spells and morph into ghosts. Pretty cool huh? The developers say you will find at least 80 new pieces of content to consume once all is said and done. Happy Guild Wars Halloween everybody!
