downtime If your massively addicted to EVE Online, you better get some substitute quick fix ready. On January 4, its Tranquility super-computer clusterscan will undergo an extended 24 hour downtime for external network infrastructure changes and database server software updates. Tranquility can support at least 50,000 simultaneous users.

The EVE Online team says the changes and upgrade shouldn't take more than 12 hours but the network's stability or connectivity cannot be guaranteed until after the end of the scheduled downtime.

Those of you who can't wait to log on before the end of the scheduled maintenance will be playing 'at risk'. And since you've been warned, you will not be reimbursed for losses incurred by upgrade related issues.

What are you supposed to do during the downtime? The team encourages training for a long duration skill. We also suggest you re-introduce yourselves to your family and friends.
