Disney warns players of phishing scams in Pirates of the Caribbean Online - Image 1Deception is alive and well these days. One good example of this is phishing for sensitive MMORPG information in order to steal virtual valuables. Knowing this, Disney Online has provided guidelines for Pirates of the Caribbean Online players on how to guard against phishing.

Disney Online's tips include the following:
  1. Do not reply to unsolicited e-mail from a service provider. Contact your service provider directly through their official website. In the case of Pirates of the Caribbean Online, the customer support number is 877-427-7744. Alternatively, you may e-mail them at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
  2. Never give out personal information to anyone who contacts you via e-mail (i.e. name, phone number, address, etc.), even if you know the person outside of the game.
  3. Pirates of the Caribbean Online customer support will never ask you for your account information, except if you have e-mailed them about an account problem. They will especially not ask for your password.
Some of Disney Online's guidelines may seem like common sense, but common sense may not be all that common as we think. Stay informed and stay safe, players.
