CCP Games' EVE Online MMORPG for PC - Image 1Those of you who are familiar with Valve Corporation's digital distribution platform Steam will be pleasantly surprised with the newest software title to jump on the proverbial bandwagon. Marked as the first MMO game to step onto the Steam platform, CCP Games' EVE Online is now available as a free download for players who want to check out this futuristic Sci-Fi game.

Included in the package is a special 21-day trial period for players who download EVE Online via Steam. What's more, gamers will also get a US$ 5 discount off their first month of playing the game.

Making the game available on Steam also helps with any updates for EVE Online, considering the platform's auto-update feature. The only real hitch, of course, is installing Steam on your PC before you can take advantage of this great offer from Valve Corporation and CCP Games.

Even Magnus Bergsson, VP of Sales at CCP, had good things to say with the game stepping on to the Steam bandwagon. He was quoted saying:

We are immensely excited and honored that EVE Online will be the first MMO on Steam. Steam has been the leading online distribution platform for a long time and home to some of the most dedicated gamers around, so we couldn't think of a better fit for EVE Online.
