Blizzard gives Diablo 3 Free to WoW Pass Subscribers |

Blizzcon is happening right now, not in that kind of way old people use happening or that terrible Shayamalan film, but in the way that a lot of great or meh news stories are gonne be unloaded on you in the next few days that will either excite you or just make you wanna wish Activision went back to making good Tony Hawk's games.
So apparently launching some time quite soon is the WoW Pass. Similar to that of the PS Pass Sony will be bringing out soon, as in it will be a bit expensive, be for a year and may be arbitrary depending on how the game market turns out and how may people buy it. The WoW pass will give you instant access to updates and cool stuff Activision and Blizzard want to throw your way, including the latest Diablo game.
Signing up for a year's worth of WoW will get you an in-game mount and access to Diablo 3 for free. Pretty clever business plan if I do say so myself. There have been conflicting reports as to whether World of Warcraft's subscribership has been dwindling. I don't know many friends who still play WoW, but I am aware of the fanbase still being around. So I think regardless Blizzard are gonna make a lot of money for both games but whether or not their intentions are to continue WoW for another year or two are smart is a bit mixed for me.

I do know that this does not entice me to go out and buy either product how ever. I think I will still wait till Diablo 3 can be bought for a bargain price a year or two down the road from launch date before I play the game.

The only difference is you're locked in to a 1 year contract to play. You still get billed monthly as normal (or whatever choice you prefer, you CAN change the billing frequency).
And you also get an in-game WoW mount as well for signing up to a 1 year contract. At the end of the year, you get to keep Diablo III forever!

They made so much money off WoW that they can afford to give D3 for free.
WoW is still a cash cow for the next ocuple of years for sure.
