Blacklight: Tango Down developer Zombie Studios has finally lifted the veil off of its next shooter, Blacklight Retribution. As the company previously revealed, the Tango Down sequel will be going down the free-to-play route. The developers are also joining forces with publisher Perfect World Entertainment for the sequel.
"Blacklight Retribution will be the first FPS in Perfect World Entertainment's diverse portfolio of online games and highlights our commitment to providing players with new and unique online gaming experiences," said Alan Chen, CEO of Perfect World Entertainment Inc.
"We've wanted to develop a high quality and yet free-to-play first person shooter for years, which is why we're excited to be teaming up with Perfect World, an online-game developer and operator with more than eight years of experience in the free-to-play space," added Mark Long, co-CEO of Zombie Studios Inc.
"We know how to make thrilling first person shooters and Perfect World have vast experience in publishing various games in different markets. With this alliance of expertise, PC gamers can look forward to a high quality first person shooter that is available for everyone to play."
The game is being shown off behind closed doors at E3 2011. Zombie Studios has promised a large number of improvements based on the feedback they got regarding Tango Down, and everything from weapons and items to levels will be all new. One new addition is the introduction of drivable mechs.

And FTP is a cool thing to do.
Suggestion: Please reconsider the name "Zombie Studios".
You could change it tonight before to many more people find out you did that.
