I'm sure all of you are excited about the impending end of the world, so why not share some extremely appropriate news with you on this special day. In case you don't remember Black Isle studios, they were essentially the team responsible for the Fallout series before the Bethesda takeover. Now however, the team has risen from the dead to bring back some of their old work on a project code named PV13.

If you've been following the industry closely, you may have heard of PV13 before. That's because in the past it was rumored to be Fallout Online. With the trademark now gone, Black Isle is in the process of creating an adventure that is part of an entirely new series that will probably feature a lot of the familiar mechanics from the old games. As we are talking about online play, this will be an MMO about the apocalypse. Basically you'll emerge in a devastated world, and it will be your job to put all of the pieces back together while creating a society and gathering enough resources to survive.

It certainly sounds cool, but it's not going to be without a lot of funding from the audience. Unlike similar initiatives, you're not exactly giving your money to make the  final game. Instead, at ten dollar increments, you'll be working toward making a proof of concept that Black Isle can then pitch to some larger partners. For your money you'll also be given exclusive access to their forums which is a nice little perk. So far, it looks like this method has created a lot of backlash, but none the less, if you want more info you can check out a preliminary interview here. Wonder what the fallout of this will be?
