Age of Conan goes FTP this summer |
Listed in: News Tags: age of conan, Funcom

First, on the name change. Age of Conan will now be known as Age of Conan: Unrated. Now, as to the FTP setup this summer, fans will have to pay for expansions and items, although they will still be allowed to get to Level 80. If you have an existing subscription, you will now be included in the exclusive premium members list.
Said Craig Morrision, executive producer, on the changes, "The time is right for Age of Conan as we recognized the opportunity presented by the increased profile of the license, with the new Conan movie coming out this Fall."
Ahh.. that makes sense. A movie is coming up, and so what better way to drum up its arrival while at the same time revamping the game's image than this? Speaking of changes, further improvements will be made, features-wise. Unrated will also be bringing you two new solo story-based dungeons: The Breach and The Forgotten. And then, around the same time as the movie's launch, a new adventure pack will also be coming in, featuring characters from the movie itself.
"We felt that the time had come to make the switch to ensure we had the best possible position and availability for when that interests increases, so that we could draw in eve more users to this wonderful world that we have brought to life."

I'm no fan of monthly fee's to play.
I refuse to do that.
(The new movie looks lame though.)
