Acclaim Announces New MMORPG Game - "2Moons" |
Ó

As the tag line goes, Acclaim - makers of MMORPG titles such as 9 Dragons and BOTS - is at it again as they announce another MMO extravaganza. Their new creation, 2Moons, will have game development veteran, David Perry at the helm, with Mr. Sunghun Baek as his key creative partner. 2Moons is an M-Rated MMORPG designed specifically for adult gamers who are out for an adrenaline-soaked experience.
The title focuses on training players to become saviors in a world where any hope for survival was virtually nil. The game, according to Perry, won't be heavy on an intricate back story; instead, the game's narrative is all about the individual's journey as they grow to become a level 100 warrior.
2Moons is based on the South Korean MMO known as Dekaron. The creators of Dekaron and the guys over at Acclaim are working hand-in-hand to take the framework of a working successful MMO and re-make it specifically for Western audiences. But the best part of the deal? It's free.
Acclaim's model is based on releasing full-price games for free. With no subscriptions, and no charge to download the game, it will be funded mostly by advertising - and (even more radically) the user will be allowed to turn off the in-game adverting if they choose. With Perry's approach, Acclaim is determined to offer truly free gameplay by creating a new kind of advertising model for the industry.
