Yesterday we featured new Warhammer: Age of Reckoning images released by EA Mythic. Today, Mythic's Paul Barnett gives us more insider info about those images. Barnett describes the Warhammer Empire as a place full of extreme characters and he explains three that went overboard in the Style Department.

Bright Wizards
The Bright Wizard is the one wearing the same dress that Cher wore to the 1979 Academy Awards. But whereas Cher topped off her get-up with a headdress made entirely of glazed chameleon skins, the David Blane of Warhammer chose the Don King 'do for that electrifying look. More precisely, the dude looks like a trans seconds after retrieving a plugged-in hair dryer that fell into a tub of water.

All Bright Wizards are grads of the Bright College of Magic where they master the art of fire magic. Bright Wizards, it turns out, love combustion so much that they actually burned down pretty much everything around their school. They also love to blow things up.

"A Bright Wizard is all about taking the strands of magic, and using them...it makes their enemies explode. Throwing fireballs, lighting strikes, burning everything that -- it's napalm. Napalm, bombs, explosion, fire, flame throwers, matches, they smoke heavily, probably chew tobacco, all their hair is always singed, all their clothing looks like it's probably been on fire, they carry matches everywhere, tinderboxes, they like gasoline, they drink whiskey, they always got pipes stuck in their gobs. They're basically pyromaniacs," explains Bartnett. In that case, we'd love to have them over for barbecue.

Warrior-Priests
The Warrior-Priests took the idea of religion, and then went mad with it according to Bartnett. The are quick to dispense blessings on believers. Non-believers are most likely to receive a skull-crushing blow for not sharing their faith. Their version of the Golden Rule:
Speak quietly and carry a big mallet. We can only thank God (or Vishnu) these preachers don't work for Hare Krishna Inc.

"They're priests that sing the praises of their god while they're wading into combat...Almost everything that they do is a blessing around fighting and violence. And that's because Warrior Priests are a metaphor for modern day religion -- all about violence, with heavily-armored weaponry behind you," says Bartnett. Pat Robertson would die on the cross to have them on his club.

The Bandit
This female bandit, who also happens to be the president of NRA's Warhammer chapter, symbolizes one of the elements of the Empire: black powder. Bandits give a whole new meaning to the expression "dress to kill" and Bartnett calls them humans who went completely gun crazy. Dick Cheney is that you? Their over-the-top arsenal includes steam tanks, organ guns, and weapons that overpower and blow themselves up. Kim Jong-il is that you?

Judging from these characters, we have a feeling Warhammer: Age of Reckoning is goingto be the hottestempire this side of MMORPG.
