NCsoft's Tabula Rasa MMORPG - Image 1 In an interview conducted by website Ten Ton Hammer, Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa Producer Starr Long discussed the MMORPG's Personal Armor Units (PAU), Command Opportunities, and Flashpoints.

So far, five different Personal Armor Units have been revealed: Angel, Ghoul, Grendel, Shiva, and the Spectre. Each of the different PAUs have their own distinctive look. Starr pointed out that "some of them are vehicle-like, some of them are mechs, some of them even have a more organic feel like the Ghoul."

When asked about the size of each one he said that "they're not quite as big as the mech, but they're bigger than a human. They're about halfway between a mech and a human." Starr also talked about the Level 50 skill called Command Opportunities. This ability allows players to summon a squad of NPCs at any time.

Each of the summoned NPCs, in turn, will be fully controllable by the player and will be strong enough to hold their own in battle:

They're going to be pretty powerful. We'll make content that's going to be appropriate for them as well. You'll definitely be able to mop up a lot of stuff with these guys. I mean, groups with multiple people who can do this are going to be uber-powerful. But at the same time you'll probably be fighting an uber-powerful mob or mobs.

The final point that Starr talked about was the addition of Flashpoints to the game. These instanced areas are said to be designed for groups and are said to be more challenging than current instances. He said that they are still deciding on how many of this instance they will be implementing and whether or not they will make low-level Flashpoints in the game.

NCsoft's Tabula Rasa has been making a bid to become one of the top MMORPGs in the market today. While we won't say that these additions will put this game above the competition, it definitely adds a new aspect to the game.
