A Diplomatic Approach for Sigil |
Ó
Back at Sigil Studios, plans to bridge the gap between social games and the combat types finally materialized. No less than the company's President and Executive Producer, Jeff Butler, was at hand to give an idea how the in-depth diplomacy system works for their upcoming title Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.Firstly, Butler is very pleased to announce that the system is already complete and currently being integrated with Beta 3. There are still no exact date for the launch however, as they offer answer "this winter." Maybe it's their diplomacy machine talking.
Anyway, if everything turns out to be true, the diplomacy system is really engaging. Sigil wanted to change that by transforming Vanguard cities into diplomacy dungeons that is sure to keep players remain in the cities for hours.
Players begin their diplomatic careers with a small list of responses such as intimidation, jokes and compliments. As the game progresses, players earn and learn new tricks. What we have here is something reminiscent of Magic: The Gathering.
For example, a town might be full of angry guards, each one complaining that their Captain is in a foul mood. Here, you will need to approach the captain, find out why heÂ’s in a bad mood and try to remedy it. Of course if all fails in the end, you can push for aggressive negotiations - that's letting the weapons do the talking.
