If you’ve been wondering about PlayStation 3 firmware update 2.40, wonder no more. New details are up regarding firmware 2.40, and they come in the form of videos and a release date.
To keep it simple, let’s make a couple of things clear. Yes, there will be an in-game XMB come 2.40; and yes, there will be a trophy system that’s going to be implemented when 2.40 goes live, beginning with Super Stardust HD. What we were surprised to find out, however, was the actual release date for the firmware update: it’s coming out on July 2.
