What if you forget a password on your iPhone? Say you had set up a Restrictions Passcode for your iPhone a long time back and suddenly when you need it and you don’t remember it. What do you do? There are some options in this case. You can get your iPhone restored to factory condition which will reset everything and delete all your data. However, you cannot reset from a previous backup since the passcode file would be saved in your backup. Today iPhoneuseguide.com will bring you the best solution to this problem. All you need is a free app- iPhone Backup Extractor for Mac (yes, sadly this tip only works if you run a Mac). Read on and follow the steps to recover your problem. 1)      You need to first extract iPhone Backup Extractor. Once this app extracts itself you need to click on Read Backups. You will then see a list of all your backups. You can select on the backup from which you want to restore your passcode. 2)      Next, you will see a list of apps which have been backed up. You need to then scroll all the way to the bottom and then select iOS Files. Then click on extract. You should ideally extract it to your desktop since you will be able to find it easily. 3)      After the file extracts, open the folder. Then search for the file which is titled ‘com.apple.springboard.plist’. Open this file. 4)      You can scroll down through the list of properties. You will come across a key which is called SBParentalControlsPin. The value next to it is your Restrictions Passcode. If you are a jailbreak iPhone user then you can easily find your passcode using SSH. All you need to do is to navigate to the following destination: var/mobile/Library/Preferences.
