Apple covers your iPhone through its limited warranty for a year. However, it is highly recommended that you extend this for another year for a price of $69, through AppleCare. You can do this either through the Apple Store online or even Amazon and eBay, though the latter is not advisable. Once your warranty expires, repairs can be done at an authorized Apple repair center, though it may cost you a lot. The next thing to do is to get a sweet accessory for your shiny new iPhone. There are hundreds of accessories you can get for your iPhone, the most common ones being cases. Cases in any colour imaginable are available for the iPhone. Since the iPhone has been redesigned for Verizon, ensure that the case fits your iPhone. Universal bumpers (for both AT&T and Verizon) are available and would probably cost you around $30.

If you are indecisive about what to get then for the time being you could possibly get one of the soft TPU cases available on eBay which cost from $1-$2. This will save your iPhone a few scratches before a permanent option can be decided upon. Don’t be deceived by the small, innocent looks of your iPhone. It’s a monster in its own right and can quite easily substitute your home PC. An exhaustive guide on the iPhone can be downloaded from the Apple’s website if you wish to read it. You should first be aware of the various buttons present on the iPhone. Below the main screen is the Home button. On top-right is the sleep/wake button while the left side houses the volume control and mute switch. The home button can be used to exit applications while the sleep/wake one can be used to lock your phone as well as switch it off.

Using the touch screen involves various different finger actions such as flicking, swiping, tapping, double tapping etc which you need to get used to. Also, using the iPhone’s keyboard needs some getting used to before you start typing fast on it. The best thing to do is to type as though it was a physical keyboard and the auto-correct will work its magic on your inputted text automatically.  Remember, if you need to input numbers or symbols you can shift between the ABC keyboard and the 123 keyboard by taping on the ‘123’button at the bottom left. I am sure your understanding of your new iPhone is slowly increasing and more details on settings etc will be mentioned in the next part. So stay tuned for Part 3.
