Zynga Called Out for Copying TinyTower by NimbleBit Devs

Zynga has quickly become a powerful force in the world of social and mobile gaming, though recent rumors indicate the company could be on shaky financial footing. Zynga is known for its massively popular casual games, but many gamers may not know that the company is also notorious for stealing those games from established indie developers.

Zynga has faced lawsuits for both FarmVille and Mafia Wars, which are Zynga’d-up clones of MyFarm and Mob Wars, respectively. And the company continues its copy/paste development strategy without shame, this time cloning the official 2011 iPhone Game of the Year, TinyTower. Zynga's latest game, Dream Heights, is practically a screen-for-screen replication of the award-winning title.

NimbleBit called Zynga out with a passive-aggressive infographic, one that wishes the company luck but showcases the many ways in which their concept was ripped off. Check it out:

What do you think of Zynga’s cloning strategy? It works in terms of sales, but it isn’t earning them any support in the gaming community.

I swear the gaming mobile world of developers have no originality for there works.

Gameloft - Replicates big name games

Toamee? - Rips content directly from other games to include in there's;
Mole Kart = Mario Kart Wii
Mole World = Smurfs F2P

Madfinger Games - Shadowgun = Gears of War

nothing innovative.

Yeah, it's sort of audacious for any mobile developer to pretend their idea is original.
