We’re still a few months away from the launch of the hotly anticipated Max Payne 3, but that doesn’t mean Rockstar doesn’t have a few tricks up its sleeves for the short term. Take, for instance, today’s announcement that the original Max Payne would be hitting Android and iOS devices—in its entirety.

Yes, the “full classic” Max Payne will launch on the iTunes store next week, with an Android release scheduled for April 26. The game has seen some minor upgrades, such as a high-def retouch and new textures, but will remain much the same title you played back in 2001.
The game will work on iPhone 3SS, 4, 4S, as well as all three iPads. At the moment, there’s no list of compatible Android systems. Also, Rockstar didn’t reveal prices for either the iTunes Store or Android market, but we can assume the game will land somewhere near Grand Theft Auto III’s $4.99.
Will you play Max Payne on your phone?
