PlayDead, the creators of Limbo, probably the darkest platformer you'll play, have just put up a job listing that shows the Danish devs are looking to expand to Android and iPhone platforms. But not only that, Windows 8 and possibly "other"  potential ports in the future. The developers have already said that they have "already released the game to [multiple platforms] and OnLive and [they] are continuously investigating other possibly platforms", in the job listing. They are currently investigating iOS, Win8, NACL and other platforms, whether or not this is for Limbo or an upcoming original IP, it does not say, but why would PlayDead be doing this?

Well, while people could easily point the finger at saying this is where gaming is going, PlayDead have only got one title out there and it took quite a lot of word of mouth to get Limbo off the ground. It's experience on XBLIG was not exactly smooth and it wasn't till it's release on Steam did anyone really sit up and take notice. PlayDead could possibly be worried about the selling potential and getting the word of their next IP out there and with development for mobile platforms - multiple mobile platforms, mind you - solves a good problem.

Look, whatever PlayDead does in the future, I'm sure it'll be awesome and we already know that they are "working on [their] next title"

So what do you think PlayDead are up to?
