Apple iPhone Apps reports: Barclay’s Capital analyst Ben Reitzes is reporting that according to his contacts, Apple has doubled its iPhone production for this quarter. According to his report, Apple is bulking up their supply in preparation for the release of the next-gen iPhones that have been rumored to arrive in June.
He claims, like many other sources, that the new iPhone will sport an upgraded camera that will allow still photos as well as video capabilities and possibly another camera on the front of the device for video chat. Reitzes also follows the path already laid by another analyst, stating that the new iPhone will ship as multiple models.
The high-end model will contain the snazzy new camera and will have various memory capacities. The low-end model will resemble the current iPhone 3G and will be sold at a lower price with varying data plans in an attempt to get the device into more hands, including lower income users.
