iPhone Alarms Failing New Year's Day?

Getting up the morning after New Year’s Eve is always rough, but this year there’s an extra problem besides what you drank last night. Numerous iPhone owners have taken to Twitter to report that when the clock strikes midnight and the date flips over to 1/1/2011, one off alarms stop working. The only way to fix this problem seems to be creating a recurring alarm, then turning it off after it wakes you up. The glitch is being blamed on the Apple OS, and we can’t expect any action from them until at least Monday. According to a report at 9to5Mac, the bug will fix itself on January 3. Before or after we’re supposed to get up and go to work, I wonder?

A similar problem sprang up after the switchover to Daylight Savings Time in November, except that one affected both single and repeating alarms. Maybe if you have something really important to get up for over the next three days, you should depend on another alarm. Or use this bug as an excuse when you wander into work at noon on Monday because you’re still hung over.
