iPhone Alarm Glitch Still Not Fixed

Owners of iPhones who overslept this morning and were late to work can’t say they weren’t warned. It was discovered on New Year’s Eve that when the clock struck midnight, one off alarms on the iPhone quit working. The glitch was blamed on the Apple OS, and according to Apple sources, the problem would fix itself on January 3. Well, it didn’t happen that way, with the bug affecting the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch. All day, angry iPhone owners have been complaining to Twitter and other internet sites that their alarms failed to go off this morning. Irate iPhone users told The New York Times that they were late to work, missed flights or didn’t get the kids to school on time, all because their alarms didn’t work. Where were the geniuses at Apple while all this was going on?

Were they too busy laughing at the descriptions of the iPad wannabes Steve Ballmer’s bringing to CES? Apple reps have so far failed to even give an official response to this ongoing snafu, much less do anything about solving the problem. What can iPhone users do until Apple finally fixes this bug? Creating a recurring alarm seems to be working, or you could try one of the alarm apps available for the iPhone, like iClock. The one person finding humor in the situation seems to be comedian Andy Borowitz, who quipped: “Steve Jobs was set to hold a press conference on iPhone alarm glitch, but he overslept.”
