iPhone 4S fastest selling phone ever |
Listed in: News Tags: cloud computing, icloud, ios5, iphone4, iphone4s, phillip schiller, Twitter
How does one chart the success of a man? Or for that matter a machine? Especially when you sell over a million of said machine in just a matter of days. This man would be proud.

The iPhone 4S has been a hit with consumers selling over 4 million of the product in just 3 days. Comparing that to other phones by Samsung and Motorola, there is no real comparison, but I thought I'd mention them so other people remember there are other phones out in the market.
That 4 million in Apple sales, is a stark contrast to the iPhone 4 selling only 2 million in 5 days with their last launch. However of that 4 million of the 4S only 3 million were instore, as the other million had pre-ordered their phone just a mere 24 hours after it was initially announced.
With Twitter being a buzz...or rather a flutter, a lot of users have complained about the iOS5 which was launched late last week. The new OS for the iPhone 3, 3GS and 4 has been downloaded over 25 million times, but Apple could kinda care less at the moment.
Senior VP of Worldwide Product Marketing, Phillip Schiller or the Phil Schill as we call him, says about Apple's latest launch, that the "iPhone 4s is off to a great start...in it's first weekend...the iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with...iCloud...[this] is the best iPhone ever."
The iCloud is probably my favourite innovation that Apple is going for. I know cloud computing is not their thing but with more and more technology being cloud based, an expansion for cheaper and possibly a lot more design heavy computers may be the way to go for Apple and many other companies like it.

Anyone that disagrees is a stupid Apple fanbooy that blindy follows anything Apple does. Apple makes crapy quality products and puts a huge price tag on them and laughs at all you idiots that like to pay for it. They're taking you to the cleaners and you just happily give them money for a kick in the teeth.

Yeah, that's it.
"These commoners on QJ are just stupid pathetic trolls that never base anything they say on hard facts."
Oh, you mean like most all of your posts? Ok.
"Anyone that disagrees is a stupid Apple fanbooy that blindy follows anything Apple does."
Honestly, I hate Apple with a passion. Apple the company and OSX. God OSX is total crap!!! But damn, I love my iOS devices.
I guess that shoots your fan boy theory straight to hell eh?

Every single 4S (that's all 21 of them) have piss poor battery life.
I installed System Status on some of them and the CPU is in overdrive all the time. Usually above 90%. Apple fucked something up big time!!!
Nothing an update can't fix but gees, what a goof!!!

In fact, from what I can tell by the list I've made is that it's phone provider dependent.

These are phones that sit on a desk and do nothing all day long. Zero use yet they suck battery life at about 15% every hour. I don't simply listen to people whine and try to fix things I've not verified as broken. I did some testing first.
"The battery is going to die quicker than their old phone because their old phone was, well, "old."
That made no sense at all. Why would a NEW battery in a NEW phone die quicker then an OLD battery in an OLD phone simply because the OLD one was OLD?
Anyway, with Siri turned off the 4S now lasts longer then the 4. Yes I'm referring to NEW iPhone4's and of course NEW iPhone 4S's.
iPhone4S w/Siri CPU usage: 5% - 25%
iPhone4S wo/Siri CPU usage: 5% - 8%

Thinking I was saying phone with an older battery will magically hold more power is just a failure on your part.
I followed up directly with "There was no reason to run the battery down playing with Siri or any of the new features."
I know this is obvious but I feel the need to say Siri didn't exist then. I won't argue that Siri is adding extra stress on resources. You have provided evidence of this from your findings in turning it on and off and I'm not really interested in running my own tests. Plus I don't have 21 phones to play with.
To the best of my knowledge, people have complained about the battery life of each new iPhone even though each one has actually had better battery life.
I think it is a combination of both the addition of Siri and simply the thrill of having a new phone. After the shine wears off I'm sure you'll have more free time to post here.
You seem like a pretty smart guy. You shouldn't be wasting skills worrying about peoples cell phone.

Why did you feel that need? Siri only works on the 4S. Yeah, pretty obvious.
"I think it is a combination of both the addition of Siri and simply the thrill of having a new phone."
Again, you are still wrong. What part of these phones going from full charge to dead within 7 hours WHILE NOT BEING USED AT ALL is escaping your attention?
"You seem like a pretty smart guy. You shouldn't be wasting skills worrying about peoples cell phone."
Is that supposed to be some sort of joke? Are do you simply not read anything of which you reply to?
"We have 18 phones where I work and another...."
WHERE I WORK. To read be read as, WORK PHONES. To be read as, MY JOB.

Are these company phones that were given out or does it just happen that your whole company coincidentally went out and bought 4s at launch.

Very good. You just proved my point. Turning Siri OFF = proper battery life. Really, what part of this am I making so complicated?
However, even with Siri off and 8 hours later, only 1% usage? I don't believe that for a second. No phone on the planet, nah, no electronic device on the planet is that low on power usage.
"Are these company phones...."
Ugh, really?
Reply
Ugh, yes really. If they were all issued from the same lot then you got a bad batch.
Anyhow, you obviously don't need any help. And since you're a key member at your workplace then you should have no problem sending those pieces of trash back where they came from. Have fun with the phones dick.

You either have every radio turned off OR you are a lying bastard. I don't say that because of Siri, I say that because no iPhone EVER used that little power. According to you your phone will last 8.3333 days. Yup, you're a liar.
"Have fun with the phones dick."
Grow up.

I have no reason to lie. My phone works. Time to flip the script.
I think either you are the liar and you're just wanting to bash a new phone or you're too stupid to take advantage of a return policy. Either way, if you haven't fixed it by now then I don't know what to tell you.

Yeah, I'm the one lying. Meanwhile, anyone who reads these comments will easily see how moronic you are for even attempting to state such a case.
"Either way, if you haven't fixed it by now then I don't know what to tell you."
As always you can't read for squat. Scroll up many posts and you'll see I sepcificly stated that it's been fixed.
What else ya got?

Funny how that math thing makes me not a liar. Now fix the phones or take them back slowhead.

Fix your phones slowhead. Don't disable shit and call it fixed.

You can side step your BS all you want but you can not excape that simple fact. Especially since all thee models have different radios in them and all three models would have DIFFERENT standby times.
But you knew that right? HA!!!
Here's something else for your pathetic brain to chew on. Apple has VERIFIED the problem. Apple stores have been flooded with people bringing back their phones. What do they recommend for people to do until a fix has been issued?
IF THE BATTERY LIFE IS A PROBLEM FOR YOU THEN PLEASE TURN OFF THE SIRI FEATURE UNTIL A FIX HAS BEEN ISSUED.
Gee, that's exactly what this "tech" did.
Suck it, rock for brains.

1. Your idiotic attempt to tell me to fix it is utterly stupid. The iPhone is a closed system. There is nothing to fix. The device is close and the OS is closed. There is litteraly nothing to do. Most of the devices have been wiped and the issue happens with factory spec with no apps loaded. Which brings us to:
2. Not all the phones came from the same distribution center. Therefore your idea that all the phones came from the same batch and are all broken at once is not only pathetic, stupid, moronic, bird brained and foolish but it's also the simplistic idea of a child as well as damn right impossible.
What other foolish nonsense do you want me to read from you?
