How To: Get Absinthe 2.0 on Mountain Lion |

While I am personally unsure if this error was purposefully orchestrated by the company to prevent such action from taking place on the casual user's device, QJ is here to bring you a clever little tutorial to show you new OS adopters how to get back into the iOS scene from your freshly formatted installs of OSX Mountain Lion.

The process is really quite simple and only involves a quick foray into the OS terminal to regain functionality. First, you of course can start by downloading Absinthe 2.0 here and running the packaged dmg file to conduct the installation. Once completed, right click the Absinthe application and select "show package contents." Once inside, head on over to "Contents -> MacOS and right click on the file that says "Absinthe 10.6. Choose the option to "open with" and pick "terminal." Once terminal has loaded there will be a few random scripts you don't really need to worry about and then the program will boot as normal.
As is dictated by the software itself, this will only work on iDevices with 5.1.1 firmware installed, but if you happen to be on that version, more or less any device including iPads iPhones and iPod Touches can be fully hacked using this simple method. For any questions you can sound off to our lovely mac members in the comments section below.
