Divnich: Mobile games making a move on consoles |

EEDAR's Jesse Divnich has the statistics that suggest how rapidly the mobile games market is encroaching on consoles.
"Our industry thrives on momentum and habit. The first thing a gamer says when they finish a great title is, 'What can I play next?' and when the answer is nothing that consumer begins to look elsewhere to satisfy their entertainment needs. From our consumer surveys and market analysis, the level of activity occurring in non-traditional gaming markets such as mobile, tablet, and social have skyrocketed over the last 3 months," Divnich said.
It seems that he's implying that gamers have such a want for AAA game after AAA game that they end up getting desperate and turn to cheap mobile titles.
"We've done the surveys and we know that over 51% of traditional console owners have engaged with mobile and social games over the last 6 months. It wouldn't be a far stretch to assume that this increase in non-traditional gaming playtime is coming at the cost of the traditional physical experience. The scary question is whether these consumers have simply gone dormant, waiting for the next big Xbox 360 game, or if we have lost some, even if it is a relatively small percentage, to these non-traditional gaming markets forever," Divnich continued.
It's almost laughable to suggest that someone who has played a deep console experience would turn to a shallow mobile game -- albiet cheaper -- and never return to consoles. There are a handful of quality titles on the App Store, but none of them match what is offered on traditional consoles.

In other news, a study that has shown that 51% of those who play violent videogames have considered punching somebody once in the past six months, leading us to believe the world is about to descend into violent anarchy.

He mentions the "next big 360 game".As the 360 itself is responsible for the majority of the "big" games.Come on now, how can you take him seriously with a statement like that.
I don't think thes f@ckers have a clue but its not too surprising since they're only analyst's.
"Sometimes i feel like a genius but other times i wonder if people are just incredibly stupid...."
