The latest installment of Rovio's addictive physics-based puzzler is now out in the Apple App Store.
Angry Birds Rio, a game developed in conjunction with Twentieth Century Fox upcoming animated film, RIO, features two episodes and 60 levels, "with new episodic updates based on the motion picture RIO will be provided throughout the year," reveals the press release. It also includes new playable characters, new achievements and unlockable secrets.
“Angry Birds Rio is the most exciting thing to happen to Angry Birds so far,” said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio. “We are glad to bring exciting new gameplay elements and a fresh, thrilling new Angry Birds experience to all our fans worldwide.”
“Rovio has once again taken gaming in the app environment to an entirely new level with Angry Birds Rio,” said Peter Levinsohn, president of new media and digital distribution for Twentieth Century Fox. “Not only will consumers love the game, but it will also serve as a fun and interactive introduction to some of the great characters they’ll meet in RIO.”
The game is now available in the App Store for US$ 0.99 for the iPhone and iPod Touch, while an HD iPad version sells for $2.99. An Android installment is now also up for grabs via the newly launched Amazon Android Appstore.
