2.2.1 does NOT fix the 'No Service' Issue... |

Upgrading to 2.2 originally was hailed as a major upgrade in iPhone-land. However, after the novelty of Google Streetview wore off we all realised a far bigger problem was at hand. 2.2 messed with the signal strength of the iPhone and everyone started writing to us complaining about 'NO SERVICE' appearing when they were definately in a good service zone.
2.2.1 was released last week and we stupidly assumed that the reason for this upgrade was to fix this new signal drop issue, however it does NOT fix this problem, and everyone is still stuck with their iPhone suddenly dropping signal in strong signal zones for up to 15 minutes at a time. This issue affects standard iPhones and Jailbroken iPhones on 2.2 and 2.2.1
If you can hold off, stay on version 2.1 to guarantee quality of service with your iPhone 3G.
