iPhone jailbreaking: How to jailbreak using Snowbreeze for iOS 4.3

You have to remember that Snowbreeze 2.3 is in beta so there may be some problems on the build. Also this is a tethered jailbreak which means that every time you reboot you need to connect to your computer. There is still no unlock for iOS 4.3 so if you want that then you better stay away from iOS 4.3 for now. Lastly, this jailbreak is only for Windows as Snowbreeze only supports the Windows OS.

For the steps please read on: 1) First of all you need all the necessary softwares. iTunes must be updated to 10.2.1 while you should download the .ipsw file of iOS 4.3 (run a quick google search). Make a note of where the file downloads to on your computer. 2) Next, you need to download Snowbreeze 2.3 beta for Windows and preferably save everything in a folder on your desktop. Snowbreeze 2.3 also contains iBooty which you will require later. 3) Double click on Snowbreeze 2.3 and click on the blue arrow button in the bottom of the screen. You will then have to choose the .ipsw file by clicking on browse and searching for it on your computer. 4) Once the firmware gets verified you need to then click next. After this select Expert Mode and then Build IPSW. Building these files can take an awfully long time so don’t worry. 5) Click on OK once it says done. The next screen will help you put your iPhone into the DFU mode. 6) To do this, hold the power and home button on the iPhone for 10 seconds.

7) After the 10 seconds, continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds but release the power button. That’s it! 8) If you did the above steps properly you will be prompted by Snowbreeze to open up iTunes. Make sure at this time your iPhone is plugged in. 9) Go to you iPhone on iTunes and then hold on shift and click on Restore. On clicking this, a browser window opens allowing you to select the custom IPSW Snowbreeze built. Select it and then let iTunes restore your iPhone. This may also take some time to complete. 10) You will be able to find iBooty in the same folder as Snowbreeze once Snowbreeze completes. Let us see how to use iBooty to boot up your iPhone through a tethered jailbreak. Open up iBooty and then select your device from the dropdown menu. Click on the start button and then once again you will have to go through the DFU process. 11) Once you enter DFU mode iBooty will continue with the rest. Once the process completes your iPhone will boot up jailbroken. This process is quite easy and will give you the excitement of jailbreaking on iOS 4.3. However, if you are not really impatient you could wait for more stable releases.
