Homebrew coder ZodTTD has released a brand new application in the App Store. It's called Streamer, a streaming media app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. But it's not just any other media streaming app, it can stream nearly any codec that is available and any type of media app you want via RTS, MMS, HTTP, Shoutcast, Icecast and more. Developers note:
I've been secretly working on an app for Apple's AppStore to bring streaming media to the iPhone & iPod Touch. Not just any ole streaming media though! I'm talking about streaming any type of media you want via RTSP, MMS, HTTP, Shoutcast, Icecast, video like FLV, audio like OGG, you name it! This app has now been approved by Apple! It's called Streamer and is available in iTunes here. Best of all it's free! It comes pre-loaded with a few audio and video streams and more are to come, but it's true functionality can be found in the bookmarks section. For instance you can head to Shoutcast Audio or TV's directory, pick an ID, add it to your bookmarks by pressing + and select it to play. There's lots of possibilities with this app. Use it for anything from a baby monitor to streaming your own TV. Having support for nearly any codec you want helps too! Best of all, it's FREE!

Trying it out now. We'll see how it goes.
I tried to stream one of the default streams that the App has (Mystery Science Theatre 3000) and the app just crashed. I tried viewing it again and it just sits trying to connect.
So far I've watched some really old black and white show similar to the 3 stooges, and some old black and white cartoons. The resolution is bad and the app doesn't support landscape. It does stream video so its not completely broken, but I've also had issues with the app.
I'm trying to figure out if it can do hulu.com now which I haven't had any success with yet.
I think ZodTTD got his priorities wrong. This is an app thats worth paying for where gbSPhone is an app that should be free.
