iPod Touch - Image 1Great news for iPod Touch 2G owners. The iPhone Dev Team has finally released an untethered jailbreak for the 2nd generation iPod Touch. Even better, the Dev Team has found a "fatal flaw in its bootrom that means you will always be able to pwn these devices no matter what firmware updates come along."

The catch here is that it hasn't been integrated yet into Pwnage Tool or QuickPwn, but it's only a matter of time until new versions of these two apps are rolled out. Those who already tried out the tethered jailbreak can download the untethered jailbreak patch here.

Yea!

Of course you can still buy apps. ( or install another installer called installous... but i cant talk about that here, you can gmail me if you want to learn about that) And plus, you have access to cydia, cydia store, and installer. All great things. Plus you get winterboard, which changes the look of your ipod. Its sort of like themes on your PSP.

But I would continue to buy them. Some of us work our arses off to release apps and only ask $1 for them. I was debugging for 16 solid hours yesterday so that my app store release wont crash on users and I'm sure other devs out there work very hard so please continue to support the app store.

The iPhone dev team? You mean the actual iPhone developers at Apple or some retardedly named programmer?

Then

Release it on cydia store. The fact is, the app store is extremely flawed. I make java apps, yet i ask nothing for them. They are there to help. In this economy, people can't constantly spend money on apps that they can't afford. A dollar doesn't seem like much, but for a family of 6, it can mean a lot.

I have a free app coming that will be released on the Apple app store. The fact of the matter is I have taken around 200 hours out of my job and life to produce the app I'm charging $1 for. How is it that the app store is flawed? If the family of 6 can't afford my game then so be it, but that doesn't give them the right to pirate it. Hell, they could just sell their iPhones if they're so hard up for $1. In this economy I can't afford to give away 200 hours of work.

All questions here answered

Yes you will be able to still install AppStore apps, Cydia apps, or whatever kind you come across. As long as they are built for your firmware. The iphone dev team is a group dedicated to cracking each of these devices when they come out, and have contributed much to the jailbreaking community. Cydia, which is the app that you download jailbroken apps with, recently opened with a store that you can purchase certain apps that independent developers have made outside of the AppStore process. Like the conversation between the other few posters, each dollar counts for developers, and Apple takes quite a large chunk out of everyone's pay, not to mention after cherry-picking which applications they approve of. There is plenty of information out there, just google around.
