Replace iOS Notifications With LockInfo And Notified Pro

Unfortunately 90% of iPhone users have to wait for Apple to fix this problem, hopefully in one of the next builds of iOS to come. Fortunately, for those of us who have jailbroken iPhones, a cure is currently available in the Cydia app store. This cure is basically a mixture of two different applications namely, LockInfo and Notified Pro.

For a less obstructive and more flexible notification system on your jailbroken iPhone follow the setup mentioned below: Download LockInfo and NotifyPro from the Cydia app market. Setup for LockInfo: •    Mail, Push notifications and SMS must be set to be displayed on InfoShade as well as Lockscreen. •    Go into Settings, then Lockscreen and block pop-ups. This will disable all iOS based pop-ups. •    InfoShade must be activated with the swiping of the statusbar downwards. •    Go into settings and hide Empty Sections. This will result in plugins automatically hiding when there is nothing to show. •    For each of the LockInfo plugins, the status bar icons must be disabled. Remember, this must be done individually inside the plugins settings.

Setup for Notified Pro: •    Through Cydia, Notification GriP plugin must be downloaded for Notified Pro. •    Go into the settings of Notified Pro and disable all Alerts on the lockscreen and springboard through the Manage Alerts section.

Setup for Notification GriP: (these can be in the app for iOS settings) •    Rotation must be enabled. •    The Wake feature on the lockscreen must be switched on. •    Display along bottom must be set. •    Value of Max Visible on screen should be put as one. •    Auto close must be set to 10 secs. •    Rounded edges must be enabled, however not necessary.

Once you get the above setup running you will experience a completely different and better notification system on your jailbroken iPhone. There are no more standard iOS pop-ups and instead notifications are shown at the bottom of the screen for the duration you have set it for. Then, pop-ups do not stack up like in the standard system instead, as soon as the next one comes, the previous one closes. NotifyPro only shows information about the most recent notifications, for older ones you need to go through LockInfo. InfoShade and the lockscreen brilliantly lists notifications which can be marked ‘read’ by tapping on the ‘x’ icon instead of going into each application. Overall, LockInfo and NotifyPro for your jailbroken iPhone provide a much more satisfying experience as compared to the standard notification system. The only downside is the price of these apps. LockInfo costs $3 while NotifyPro is more expensive at $8. But, if you really can’t deal with the mess of the standard iOS notification system on your iPhone, then $11 isn’t too much of a price to pay.
