iPhone Tips and Tricks: Transfer Files using Bluetooth with Celeste

This has always been one of the biggest flaws of iOS. For a long time iPhone users have been awaiting an app which will allow Bluetooth file transfer. Luckily for us jailbroken iPhone users the wait is now over. Developers CocoaNuts have recently released a jailbreak app known as Celeste Bluetooth File Transfer which will allow jailbroken iPhone users to transfer files to other devices via Bluetooth. Celeste will allow you to transfer a wide range of files from contacts, photos, songs to videos, movies etc. You can use it to send files to just about any other mobile device such as Nokia, Blackberry, Samsung, Sony Ericsson etc and even your Mac or PC. The only problem is that Celeste is only compatible with jailbroken iPhones running iOS 4.2.1 and iOS 4.3. If that wasn’t problem enough then the next sentence will definitely be. For $9.99 in the Cydia store Celeste is really expensive. But if you have always been waiting for this feature on your iPhone then you should definitely go over to the ModMyi repo on Cydia and buy it. However, there have been reports by several users that Celeste does not work on their jailbroken iPhones. So you may want to wait for the developers to iron out all the bugs in the app before you go and spend you precious money on it. If we rewind our mind to a few years back you would remember that there were other apps such as iBluetooth for iOS 2.x and iBlueNova for iOS 3.x which performed this same function on the iPhone. But recently there hasn’t been anything which is why Celeste is unique. Let us know if you jumped the gun and bought it and if it works for your iPhone.
