Zynga loses Facebook crown |
Listed in: Gaming Tags: castleville, draw something, Facebook, omgpop, words with friends, zynga

Facebook games are still games. They're casual games, they're social games, they're whatever you wanna call them to have a derogatory meaning, but they are still games. Zynga was holding the sceptre, crown and the number one spot, but it looks like the torch has been passed to the guys at OMGPOP who have broken through to the mainstream audience with Draw Something.
Draw Something is a sketch'em up puzzle game, not unlike Pictionary but with people who got lazy and decided to write what the word was because they're vocabulary stopped in high school. The game currently sits on the highest Daily players with 12.1 million (at the time of writing), however, they have a long way to go to break the monthly records which is currently being Cityville with 46 million and Draw Something sitting at number fifteen with Words with Friends on top.
Do you play Draw Something? I have only heard about the game via word of mouth and am probably adding to it by just writing this article.

The crown hasn't moved at all then.
Also, the only possible crown it can hope to gain is from another SINGLE game. Add up all of Zyngas monthly users and OMGPOP doesn't stand a chance.
