Namco Bandai releases Galaga 30th Collection on App Store

It's been 30 years since Namco Bandai first brought Galaga to North American arcades. To celebrate the game's 30th anniversary, the company has released a new arcade collection called Galaga 30th Collection for iOS devices.

The collection is available for free as a universal app so it'll work whether you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. The title features redesigned modernized remakes of all 4 titles in the Galaga series: Galaxian, Galaga, Gaplus and Galaga '88.

The new Galaga features updated graphics, optimized touch-panel controls and more. With the new Galaga Points system, players can earn Galaga Points that they can spend on items to toughen up their ships, to create the meanest fighter in the systems. Players who become Galaga experts can collect achievement pins across the whole game series to boast their in-game accomplishments.

The Galaga 30th Collection upgradeable app comes bundled with a free copy of Galaxian. You can gt the other classic Galaga titles through in-app purchases. You'll need iOS 4.0 or later to run it.

Much bette game than the original. I downloaded the free version and have ended up paying $3 for the Galaga 88 and Galaga. I think I got Galaxian for free? I downloaded on my Ipad2. The game have the ability to set how you use the screen fire and move button. You can also configure how you want the screen to look. You take away the left and top green lines you see in this video. I didn'y care at first about the award pins you can win in each of these three games. But after a few dozen games of each game the award pins under the Achievement Button are kind neat. The coolest part is being able to win free Galaga Points while playing a game. these points are then used to "beef up" your ship or double or triple your Galaga points during a single game, or your scoring during a game. You can't buy the Galaga Points you must accumulate them during a game and redeem them before starting a game. Overall I would rate these games as 5 starts out of five. Understand that I'm a VERY avid gamer that even owns my own authentic Full Size arcade game. You wont be disappointed with your purchase IF it's on an Ipad or computer.
