Adding yet another title to the App Store's collection of iPod Touch and iPhone games is Digital Chocolate with their new title, California Gold Rush. As far as iPhone games go, this one comes with a fun, simple concept, and a hell lot of screen-poking. Why not? Poking is fun.

Info for the game is still a bit scarce right now, but from what we can tell though the vid, you're gonna need a very sharp pickaxe 'cause you'll be hacking away at the rocks like crazy. You'll be able to pick up little nuggets as you dig, tapping blocks here and there to let your character know where to swing.

You can get items and other stuff from the store to help you with your mining. You'll need different kinds of maps, some explosives, and support columns to make sure the whole cave doesn't crumble from above you. Overall, it could be a gold mine among iPhone games.

California Gold Rush is expected to join the App Store's archive of iPhone games at the end of Q2 this year. For now, there's still no word on pricing.
