While the game doesn't really offer much into bringing new elements into a tried-and-tested concept like a shoot-'em-up, there's always the crisp look of the game, as well as the Star Trek novelty that comes with it. Play through 12 missions and battle against the Klingons, Cardassians, and the Romulans. Control the Enterprise with the accelerometer, touch, or the virtual joystick.
The main gameplay feature is the upgrade system, where you get to use the stars you get for completing missions. Upgrade your shields, phasers, torpedoes, and even your tractor beam - all that plus the usual powerup pickups. There's also an Achievement and Medal system for the completionists to indulge in.
Star Trek is available in the App Store for only US$ 2.99.
