DOS classic, Tyrian, lands on iPhone |
Ó
More DOS-era games are coming out on the Apple App Store for all you retro-gamers at heart out there. Yesterday, we saw the launch of the Tyrian port land on the online store for US$ 1.99.
Tyrian was a 1995 original vertical shoot 'em up and was later released in 2004 as freeware. For this version of the game, it is based on the open source code project and unfortunately does not come with the data files because of some licensing issues. But nonetheless, you'll get to enjoy it and you'll need only 4.6MB of space on your iPhone / iPod Touch to enjoy.
Other iPhone Games:
- Doom Resurrection for iPhone and iPod Touch out now, interview with the devs
- 3D Rollercoaster Rush
- Mass Effect Galaxy now on App Store, completion gives reward in Mass Effect 2

I'm surprised it's allowed, there's a T in its name which might remind people of the word torrent, this would have been the perfect excuse for Apple to disallow the application...
