Destructopus bringing death to polluters on App Store |

Indie developer GlitchSoft has announced that their rampaging monster game, Destructopus, is now available on the App Store. The game puts you in the... tentacles of the titular Destructopus, "defender of the earth and a peace loving ocean creature", who has been awakened by man's indiscriminate devastation of Earth. The mission is to destroy the polluters, liberate terrains, and save a few endangered animas in the process.
The sidescrolling Destructopus plays kind of like the old Rampage games but with an environmental bent. It features physics-based action, demanding attack combos and challenging multipliers. Destructopus can also be upgraded, including one transformation that apparently turns him (it?) into a giant panda who looks like it just got wasted on acid.
Players can leave a trail of destruction across four terrain types (city, forest, desert, and industrial) and rain down environentally driven death to more than 25 enemy types and level bosses.
Destructopus can be purchased and downloaded from the App Store for US$ 1.99. It's compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad with at least iOS 3.0.
