iTunes 8 - Image 1So Apple has released the fourth beta version of the iPhone OS 3.0 to developers. Promising to bring over 100 new features for users, it sure has drawn a lot at attention, if the sold out Worldwide Developers Conference in June is any indication.
But there's another item that's making quite a racket, and it's the pre-release version of iTunes 8.2.

Released along with the OS 3.0 beta 4, the iTunes 8.2 pre-release is said to be carrying references to Blu-ray data. This data sticks out like a sore thumb because this is not included in the current version of iTunes.

Could this herald a new direction for the iTunes in support of the Blu-ray format? It sure looks like it, although we have no indication as to when this will be officially out. No word of confirmation either, but we'll most likely hear from them soon. Are you thinking of the vast possibilities yet?

Stay tuned.

iTunes is not able to play Blu-Rays? I always knew iTunes was the worst player ever created, but that's just low....

» True dat.

It's piece of *****e, it runs fine on Macs. Now only if they re-worked iTunes and made it like the new Safari beta, that'd be awesome
