The fourth beta version of the iPhone OS 3.0 was released to developers last week, and already beta 5 is now available. Installation of this OS update will require iTunes 8.2 Pre-release 2, which was jointly released as well. So, what's the changelog?

Well, no one knows the full extent of changes in these new versions of the beta OS and iTunes pre-release however, two things have been confirmed so far:
  1. the iPhone OS 3.0 beta 5 update hides the MMS support (at least for AT&T) under Settings
  2. the iTunes 8.2 Pre-release 2 update no longer allows the editing of carrier files, meaning no more tethering options
