iPhone homebrew dev George Hotz (A.K.A. GeoHot) has released a new version of blackra1n, a tool that promises to jailbreak all OS 3.1.2 iPhone and iPod Touch models in a matter of seconds. The latest update fixes a number of issues from the previous release.Changelog:
- Fixed 3G issues
- Tethered jailbreak for 3.1 OOTB ipt 8GB and new 3GSes
- Fixed Icy issues
- Both Windows and Mac
- If you used RC1 with success, no need to rerun

This thing still doesnt work for me and ive tried every tutorial.
I dont get why, I have an Ipod touch 2g 8gb model: MB
can anyone help me even though ive tried almost everything about 30 time by now
did not work on windows 7 or windows xp but it did work on windows vista so try it on windows vista
But in to "local disk C"
make sure Iphone/Itouch is on and has 3.1.2 FW
connect to the computer and make sure itunes is not running
click MAKE IT RA1N and thats all
k ill try it on vista, oh hold on did u try it in compatibility mode or the real vista?
and sanity i already tried that many times and it already is in C: but thnx for trying
I used this on 2 touches. One was a 1G 8GB model it was on FW 2. something. The other was a 2G 8Gb model and it was on 3.0.
I also did it on an Iphone 3GS with 3.0 on it.
All 3 were done using windows 7. It was run from the desktop, and I did NOT do anything to the compatability, or run as admin. It just was double clicked on to run after download.

Still doesnt work but thnx there must be something wrong with my ipod touch even though its a 2g i dont get it though i tried it on 3 diff computers they all had diff version of windows
I have a 2g ipod touch and the first BlackRain worked flawless and I'm running Vista. I had to try it once or twice. I had to restore to the current firmware then run BlackRain. maybe that will help.
