Airlines lie to passengers. I can’t count the times one certain airline—the one that always sticks you with long layovers in Atlanta—has lied to me over the years. Well, here’s an app that can let you catch up to their dirty tricks while making your flights less stressful. With FlightTrack, you just input the info on your flights, and the app does the rest. The app gives you all the details the airline doesn’t, like terminals, gates, flight maps, aircraft type, speed, altitude and weather radar. FlightTrack’s Pro version also offers “push” alerts that signal your iPhone to buzz you instantly if anything about your flight changes. Since you never can rely on the airlines to tell you what’s really going on, finding out about delays and cancellations can allow you to make better decisions about what to do next. I wish I had this app before my trip a few years ago, where I arrived at the airport to find out my plane, which was set to leave LAX in an hour, was still on the ground in Honolulu. It would have been nice to have that one-tap “e-mail this” button instead of trying to get my friends on the phone to deliver the bad news that I’d be several hours late. FlightTrack is $4.99, but we recommend FlightTrack Pro for $9.99. If you travel frequently, its worth every penny. Download at the App Store.| This story sucks? This story rocks! |
