iPhone Unlocking: How to Unlock iOS 4.3.1

This will allow iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 users who are on the baseband versions- 06.15.00, 01.59.00, 05.12.01, 05.11.07, 05.13.04 and 04.26.08 to unlock their iDevice. In light of the recent development by the Dev Team, iPhoneuserguide.com brings you to step by step guide on how to unlock your iPhone, provided you are on the baseband mentioned above. Unfortunately, if you aren’t and you want to unlock your iPhone then currently there is no solution. If by chance you are running the above mentioned baseband then you can easily update to iOS 4.3.1 while preserving your baseband. Then you should be able to easily unlock using ultrasnow 1.2.1.

Follow the steps mentioned below: 1) Before you start the process of unlocking you need to jailbreak your iPhone. You can do this by either of the two methods- a) Updating to iOS 4.3.1 with the use of PwnageTool b) Updating to iOS 4.3.1 with the use TinyUmbrella (preserving baseband 01.59.00) 2) Once you have jailbroken your iPhone, unlocking is fairly simple. You need to launch Cydia from your iPhone’s home screen. 3) Next, go into Manage, then Sources, then Edit and then tap Add. In the space provided you need to add the repo- http://repo666.ultrasnow.com. Tap on Add and Cydia will then install the ultrasnow version required to unlock your iPhone. 4) After ultrasnow has been installed, you need to reboot your iPhone or else the unlock will not work. 5) That’s it. Your iPhone is now unlocked (and jailbroken!). Now you can try inserting a different SIM card. Remember, that if you are using a T-Mobile SIM then you need to make sure you disable 3G by going into Settings, then General and then Network. The whole process of jailbreaking + unlocking is fairly simple and quick. Enjoy!
