iPhone Tweaks: Delete Jailbroken Apps with CyDelete

One of the biggest issues with this tweak has been its stability. When you would delete an app from the springboard using CyDelete the app (you deleted) would disappear from the home screen but when you would go to Cydia it would still be shown as installed. Even though this may not have been the case each time, several users questioned the usefulness of this tweak and hence uninstalled it. Fast forward to the present and with several updates to the app on Cydia, CyDelete is now again a very useful tweak for your jailbroken iPhones. The problem of not properly deleting your Cydia apps is no longer there and CyDelete feels pretty stable. It deleted the apps you want to delete without any problems. Very similar to most Cydia tweaks, CyDelete does not create an icon on the Home screen when you install it. You have customisable options for CyDelete when you go into Settings.app on your jailbroken iPhone. Well not really customizable options but just one option of toggling it on/off but then the tweak now works how it is meant to. CyDelete makes the process of deleting Cydia apps much easier. If you are not aware the normal way of deleting Cydia apps is by going into Cydia, then Manage, then locating the app in the Packages list and then finally selecting on the app and tapping on modify in the top right corner of the screen before it actually uninstalls. This method is immensely simplified with CyDelete. The process of deleting apps with CyDelete on a jailbroken iPhone is exactly the same as deleting an app on the standard iPhone. Simply press and hold on the icon you want to delete. All the icons start jiggling and small ‘x’ icons appear on the corner of each icon. Tap on the ‘x’ of the app you want to delete. You need to tap ok on the next pop-up menu and that’s it. The app is now deleted. This method makes deleting apps simpler and less time consuming. Deleting multiple apps is also really simple with CyDelete. Definitely a must have tweak on your jailbroken iPhone. The best thing, CyDelete is free on the Cydia store.
